Surprise Reflections

Carlton Harbor Book 2

Dark brown hair. Lush lips. And a pair of paint splattered red sneakers.

She tried to ignore me, but one hit and I was addicted in the best possible way.

The path our life takes is often born from our wants and desires. As humans we are innately selfish, thus the direction our life takes is often times in pursuit of the ideals that we believe will make us happy. Other times our path in life seems to be outside of our control, born not of want but of necessity. I believe success is found when the drive for our wants and desires meets the hunger from that necessity.

After years of fighting my way out from the bottom, I was finally happy with the direction of my life. It’s funny how that happens. You can be completely content, and then something - one small notion can change your trajectory. One chance meeting, a blind date and a set of blazing green eyes and my path was again diverted. The path set in front of me now born of want but fueled by a hunger that I haven’t felt in years.

We live by moments, not knowing the ending to our story because the best endings are usually surprises.
